Summer has just begun, and already the U.S. is "smothered in a record-breaking 'heat dome,'" with Alaska seeing its "first-ever heat advisory" this month. This follows 2024, which was the "hottest calendar year in recorded history," as reported by The New York Times on June 26, 2025.

These events underscore a stark reality: the world is warming faster than ever, and its impacts are becoming undeniably real in our daily lives.
