There’s been lots (!) of talk lately about AI as a technology that could kill us all within 10 years. Of course, I hope that won’t happen (talk about a buzzkill), but here’s an example of how the applied (and safe) use of AI can save lives.
A real-world test of “proactive vs. reactive” just wrapped its first summer: 125,000+ high-risk patients in New York, tracked in real time across heat, cold, air quality, and disease outbreak risk, with AI-driven outreach instead of after-the-fact alerts.
I’m an advisor to the company behind it, ERaaS Health, so I’m not a neutral observer here. But the results are worth your attention regardless of that, and founder Samrat Kulkarni laid out the summer’s work, plus what’s next at NYC Climate Week and the company’s international expansion, better than I could summarize it.
His post, in full, below.
Reactive healthcare to manage environmental risk is an obsolete paradigm, and this summer, we proved it.
Author: Samrat Kulkarni, CEO, ERaaS Heatth
Since our founding in Spring of 2025, ERaaS Health Inc. has moved at breakneck speed. By deploying our precision environmental resiliency operating system at scale across New York, we turned complex, raw environmental data into a proactive shield for human health, demonstrating the true power of responsible, life-saving AI.
Orchestrating Risk in a Changing World
What sets ERaaS Health apart is our unique ability to zoom-in on the ultra high-risk members and orchestrate dynamically across a web of overlapping vectors. From extreme cold and blistering heatwaves to hazardous air quality, shifting pollen patterns, and localized Legionnaire’s disease outbreaks, our platform manages it all simultaneously.
The results speak for themselves: we successfully reached over 125,000+ ultra-high-risk patients using deeply engaging conversational AI agents, built with our vetted LLM solution partners. Generic alerts fail to move the needle. Our LLM-powered agents drive true, measurable behavior change, creating a continuous feedback loop that gets smarter and more impactful with every single human interaction.
What’s Next: NYC Climate Week and Beyond
The momentum isn’t slowing down. We are driving the conversation both locally and globally:
This Weekend: We are partnering with Cornell Tech and Health in Climate to sponsor an incredible hackathon in New York City, engaging top-tier technical talent to build cutting-edge solutions. Check out the details at Health in Climate: Resilient People & Resilient Places
Next Week: We will be hosting a series of high-level discussions with various Global Ministries of Health during NYC Climate Week, culminating in a luncheon at the United Nations on Friday.
New York was just our proof of concept. Our blueprint is now built for global scale.
The Global Expansion: From Blueprint to Reality
With the global environmental crisis accelerating, we are rapidly scaling our framework across key international arenas as follows:
Establishing our European Footprint: We have officially launched our EU entity, ERaaS ApS, in Copenhagen under the leadership of Managing Director Jan Poulsen. We participated in the recent launch of the Lancet Countdown EU Cities Report in Barcelona, and are now in active discussions to deploy our solutions across the EU and UK markets.
Expanding Across APAC: After connecting with digital healthcare executives and policymakers at the HIMSS APAC Conference, we are actively working with partners in Singapore and Australia. And we will continue to showcase our work at the upcoming Global Heat Forum organized by the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN).
Bottomline: ERaaS Health refuses to be a bystander in the global crisis. We are actively building, scaling, and protecting futures worldwide.
