Insult to Injury for Southeast Retailers and Restaurants

Based on the January 30–February 2 forecast, this is a classic heavy snowstorm for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, with the greatest impact along the I-95 corridor and the Eastern Seaboard.
The storm’s 12–18”+ bullseye over eastern North Carolina and southeastern Virginia places some of the most weather-sensitive retail and restaurant footprints in the country directly in the crosshairs.
In the Southeast, snow doesn’t need to be historic to be disruptive — moderate accumulation produces outsized behavioral and operational effects.
